Beyond Borders: Empowering Plateau State’s Youth through Global Graduate Education.

Dear Governor of Plateau State, His Excellency
Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang.

Beyond Borders: Empowering Plateau State’s Youth through Global Graduate Education

I say a big congratulations on your recent inauguration as the governor of Plateau state as I am confident that this is truly the beginning of a new chapter for our dear state.
I hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits as you embark on this important journey of purposeful leadership.

I was drawn to your person and leadership style after listening to you speak on several platforms and media rounds concerning the plans you have for the state and I will say that you were at all times very succinct with your vision and plans. I have since been an ardent follower who prays that you make exploits as Governor of our state.

I would like to bring your attention to the pressing need to invest in graduate education for the youths of Plateau State in foreign countries through state-granted scholarships.

Education is the key to unlocking the potential of our youths and preparing them for the challenges of the modern world. While I expect an appreciable improvement in the state’s education system, it is crucial to recognize the significance of global exposure and diverse learning experiences.

Investing in graduate education for our youths in foreign countries offers numerous benefits. Firstly, it allows the youths to gain exposure to international perspectives, cutting-edge research, and innovative ideas that may not be readily available within our local institutions. This exposure would foster critical thinking, creativity, and a broader understanding of global issues, enabling our graduates to become effective leaders and contributors in various fields.

Moreover, investing in graduate education abroad can create opportunities for knowledge exchange and collaboration between Plateau State and institutions in other countries. This can lead to the transfer of advanced technology, best practices, and valuable partnerships that would enhance the development of our state in various sectors, such as healthcare, agriculture, renewable energy, and entrepreneurship.

Additionally, supporting the youths in pursuing higher education abroad can boost the prestige and recognition of Plateau State globally. When our graduates excel in their respective fields on an international stage, they become ambassadors for our state, attracting attention, investments, and partnerships from around the world. This, in turn, can contribute to the economic growth and development of Plateau State.

The state can annually issue full scholarships to at least 20 sons and daughters that have excelled in different sectors and at the end of your 8 years in office, you would have trained 160 youths. While acknowledging the financial implications of such investments, it is crucial to consider the long-term benefits and returns that would accrue to our state.

I urge you, as the Governor of Plateau State, to prioritize and allocate resources to invest in graduate education for our youths in foreign countries. By doing so, you would be equipping the youths with the necessary tools to thrive in an increasingly interconnected world, fostering innovation and progress within our state, and positioning Plateau State as a hub of excellence and opportunity.

You can empower the youths, invest in their future, and shape a brighter tomorrow for Plateau State.

Yours sincerely,

D. Samson Chuwang (B.Pharm)
